HourlyNerd Rebrands as Catalant

Leading Technology Platform Delivers a Streamlined Solution for the Talent Gap, Providing Global Enterprises On-Demand Access to Human Capital

BOSTON – July 26, 2016 – HourlyNerd, the leading technology platform for business expertise, announced today that it has rebranded as Catalant. The new name – a combination of “catalyst,” “brilliant,” and “talent” – reflects the company’s leading role in redefining how enterprises access top talent to solve critical challenges.

The talent gap is a major issue for business leaders both in the U.S. and internationally. According to PwC’s 2016 CEO Survey, 72% of CEOs worry about the availability of key skills. As top talent increasingly chooses to work in a new way, leading enterprises need streamlined access to these individuals. Catalant provides those connections, helping businesses reach the right expert no matter where they are.

“The freelance economy’s rapid growth is forcing a new conversation between global enterprises and top talent,” said Rob Biederman, co-founder and co-CEO at Catalant. “We are educating the industry on how to successfully incorporate the freelance model into their day-to-day operations, representing a new way of working for both businesses and highly talented individuals – one that is flexible, productive, and impactful.”

Catalant’s platform-as-a-service solution allows global organizations, such as GE and Pfizer, to centralize the process of sourcing independent talent by giving business leaders direct and immediate access to Catalant’s network of more than 27,000 experts. Through algorithms driven by machine learning processes, business leaders are matched to the right expert for their project within minutes of uploading an RFP. The platform then stores project information to increase knowledge sharing across the business, minimizing project duplication and optimizing operational efficiency.

“We are rapidly defining a new market category, and we needed to create a brand identity that speaks to this evolution.”

“We are rapidly defining a new market category, and we needed to create a brand identity that speaks to this evolution,” said Patrick Petitti, fellow co-founder and co-CEO at Catalant. “For the first time, businesses are using a unified (internal, external, knowledge) approach to solve problems and capitalize on opportunities. With Catalant, they can access the exact expertise or knowledge needed in real-time.”

The new name comes with a complete brand transformation, inclusive of a new logo and tagline: Accomplish More. These elements support Catalant’s efforts to educate the market on how businesses can find, hire and connect with people in ways that were never before possible.

Parent company Catalant Technologies will serve both large enterprises and small businesses. The company’s small business offering will continue to operate under the name “HourlyNerd powered by Catalant.”Catalant’s rebrand was launched on the heels of announcing its $22M Series C financing, which was led by General Catalyst Partners.
